Q: What’s the yellow bench at HT for?

A: If you visit the website for the organization behind the project, http://thefriendshipbench.org/, you can find more information straight from the source, but esentially the friendship bench is an initiative driven by their tagline #yellowisforhello that encourages students and staff members to talk about mental health. The bench works as an icon for the importance of recognizing our mental health and also works as a place for peers to support each other or just have a simple conversation. This initiative was started by Sam Fiorella, the Father of former Holy Trinity student Lucas Fiorella who sadly committed suicide in 2013, so this bench holds an especially significant meaning in our school.

Q: What can I buy for my friends 18 bday present SOS HELP

A: It really depends on their taste and interests but I’d recommend something memorable, since it is their eighteenth afterall. If they’re really into music maybe buy two tickets for the both of you to attend a concert for one of their favourite artists, or tickets to a Leafs or Raptors game if they’re into sports. If that’s a bit too pricey for your preference, maybe get something smaller like band merch or even a framed picture of the both of you with a nice written letter to add a personal touch to the gift.

Q: Starbucks or tommies?

A: Tommies, definitely Tommies.

Q: What's the best movie to watch on Halloween??

A: Halloweentown is a classic but watching horror movies is key, well, that is if you’re not beyond terrified of such films. I’d recommend The Conjuring or The Woman in Black if you enjoy good plots and actually good acting in horror movies. However, if you want to make an even bigger activity out of it you could catch the new Paranormal Activity movie at the theatre. Check out our feature Thursdays at the Theatre for what are definitely more knowledgeable movie recommendations than mine.

Q: Can you outsmart Mother Nature?

A: Does owning an umbrella count?

Q: What's the easiest grade 12 course? Or atleast 2 easy ones according to ur friends from last year. When i say easy, its how most can get high 90s on it. I know this is subjective.. but any thoughts? This is crucial lol

A: The thing is, in grade twelve every single class is going to require a great amount of effort in order for you to be able to excel in it, there’s not really a way around that. However, that’s not to say achieving high marks is impossible, as long as you apply yourself you should have no problem reaching your goals. As for specific classes I would pick an elective that best suits your interests so that you’re easily motivated to do your assignments and do well on them. For instance, if you’re solely passionate about graphic design you’ll probably have an easier time doing well in Media Arts than you would in something like Politics.
