Titans’ Successful Drive 4 Change - Team 3161 Ford Drive Fundraiser

HT’s very own robotics Team 3161 - Tronic Titans hosted the annual Ford Drive on the last Saturday of September right here at HT.

The concept of this fundraiser is that for every test drive of the newest Ford vehicles, Ford Canada donates $20 to the team as funds towards various initiatives of the team. Our team totally raised $4500 from Ford Drive.

Our event was full of excitement as people test drove brand new models from Ford. As always, there was a huge line of eager participants wanting to try the Mustang out. Music, a bake sale, and BBQ were also popular features for participants to stop by throughout the day.

We express sincere gratitude to all volunteers and participants who made this event possible, especially to Oakland Ford for their efforts towards this opportunity for raising funds.

It is the most wonderful sight to witness how our school and local communities gather as one big inclusive family driven to change culture in our society where this sport for the mind is equally regarded as the multiple Titan sports teams.

We make it our mission to dedicate ourselves to inspire people of all ages to expand their knowledge and interest in the fields of science and technology. The funds we raised support us in putting our mission into action. Did you know that our total budget for one school year is over $20,000?

This total includes materials and parts for building the robot, registering for competition, community outreach events, and many other initiatives. Our mission reminds us to extend our impact to the school and local community no matter how costly it may sound.

The best reward to our investment is seeing adults and children alike light up with excitement towards learning about STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) field. Many students and members of our community ask us how to become involved in robotics through our program.

We welcome students from all level of experience and a wide spectrum of skillsets. Hosting workshops allow senior member of the team to pass on the knowledge to new members.

You do not have to be an Einstein to be on the team! If you aren't able to participate as a member, another way to support us is to sponsor our team. Beyond monetary donations, you could share your expertise in any area that are essential to sustaining the team's activities.

Resources such as cameras to film and document our team, to cutting metal pieces for building robots are greatly appreciated. For more information about Team 3161, please visit our website: www.team3161.ca
