40 Days for life is the largest Pro-Life mobilization in history, campaigning to put an end to the injustice of abortion. It takes a peaceful approach at showing local communities the consequences of abortion. Since beginning in 2004, 40 Days for Life has saved the lives of 10, 331 pre-born children, and has resulted in the resignation of 11 abortion workers and the closing of 60 facilities in over 30 countries total.

But what is 40 Days for Life really? While most people know that it is a Pro-Life movement that is advertised by churches and the Titans For Life club, not everyone knows what getting involved entails. Is it a picket line? Is it a protest? No. All it is is prayer.

Each day from September 23 to November 1, members of the Pro-Life community gather to pray outside of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where many pregnancies are terminated, to pray for:

  • Women having an abortion

  • Pre-born children at risk of perishing

  • Men and women who continue to carry the pain of abortion

  • Workers at Planned Parenthood and abortion facilities

  • Local, regional, and national leaders of government

  • Revival and renewal in our churches

This campaign is open to everyone who would like to learn more about terminated pregnancies and Planned Parenthood. It is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of these topics without having to make a commitment to attending the events on a daily or weekly basis.

Prof. Silvestri and the Titans for Life club attended a special vigil hosted by the group on October 20th from 4-6pm, which was open to all interested students.
