Junior Girls Soccer Kicks Off

The Holy Trinity junior girls soccer team came bursting out of the gates on Monday, opening their season with a dominating performance at the Jean Vanier tournament. After weeks of hard work in the gym preparing, the Titans were rewarded with a gold medal at the tournament.

They played three games, giving a solid defensive showing in each match, and emerged from the tournament as undefeated champions. The tournament, however, was not simply a “walk in the park” for the junior girls. They played three hard fought defensive games, finding three very strong opponents in Craig Kielburger, Bishop Reding, and Christ the King beating each team 3-0, 2-0, and 3-0, respectively.

When asked about any goals the team may have this season and how far they may go, team member and midfielder, Jocelyn Fletcher said: “One of our main goals this season is definitely to play a good possession game, although winning every game would be ideal we want to focus a lot on developing team chemistry. If we can do all of that with success, I’m confident we have a great chance of going all the way to the finals and winning our tier.”

After blowing away the competition early in the season HT has set an early precedent that they're the team to beat. For more stats, scores, and updates, stay tuned. And as always: Go Titans!
