Titans on the Run

The Holy Trinity track and field team had an impressive start to the season at the Mark Graham Memorial Meet at Mohawk Sports Complex in Hamilton, ON. Many of our HT athletes excelled with their determination, strength, and persistence, not to mention their remarkable speed and endurance. From sprinting and long-distance on the track to javelin on the field, it was truly a great way to kick off the track and field season!

The morning began with the 100m sprint for junior and senior boys and girls respectively. For the senior boys, Matt Creelman grabbed first place for the 100m sprint, with an impressive time of 11.01 seconds, advancing to the finals. Once again, he finished the finals in first place, earning himself an outstanding time of 10.88 seconds. Congratulations to Matt for his Olympic-worthy performance! For the junior/senior girls, Diana Aviles and Fiorella Granda both competed in the 100m sprint, earning themselves a spot for first place and advancing to the finals! With dark clouds disappearing and the sun shining bright, the day continued with optimism and hope.

For our junior boys and girls 4 by 100 relay teams, they each finished in third place with their outstanding speed, agility, and endurance. The junior boys 4 by 100 relay team consisted of Julian Karkour, Stephen Szulc, Phoenix Bryan, and Niko Nikolic and the junior girls 4 by 100 relay team consisted of Leah Creelman, Fiorella Granda, Rene Miur, and Diana Aviles. Congratulations guys for your hard work and determination! This congratulations is also extended to Katja Zbogar and Eugenie Kowal for competing in the daunting 1500m long-distance race. As for our athletes competing in the field, Andre Punongbayan and Carmela Renzone both showed their strength and skill in the javelin event! In conclusion, it was a very fun and triumphant way to start the season.
