Sweetermans Grab Silver in Dodgeball Tourney
Staff and students from all grades made an appearance at Holy Trinity’s first annual student-teacher dodgeball game on Wednesday.
Teams including the grade 9 “Sweetermans”, the girls fastpitch team, and the grade 12s went head to head with the staff squad with members including Ms Falcone, Mrs McIntyre, Mrs. Brnadic, Mr Leonard, Mr McIntosh, Mr Fletcher and Ms. Bettio for several fast-paced and fun games. Refs Mr Orlanski and Mr Berndt made sure that everyone played clean and followed the rules.
The tournament consisted of three round robin games where all of the teams got a chance to play each other, and a massive championship match where the teachers and grade 12s beat the Sweetermans and the girls fastpitch teams for the title. In the round robin matches, the undefeated grade 12s came out on top, with the Sweetermans in second, the girls fastpitch team in third and the teachers in fourth.
Even though the teachers did not put up a great showing this year, they are already starting to practice next year, and we hope that it will be an even bigger event in the future.
Special thanks goes out to Miss Falcone and Mrs. McIntyre for organizing the tournament since the end of first semester. They worked immensely to make this event happen when inclement weather pushed the event to a later date than planned.
All in all, it was a high energy, good natured event that was a tons of fun. The tournament was a complete success.
