Q: why are people going full out for promposals? It's not the proposal
A: Well, of course it’s not an actual marriage proposal, but it’s still fun and virtually harmless. It gives students something to look forward to in high school, and even if that’s not the case with everyone, elaborate promposals aren’t hurting anyone anyway. Prom is definitely the most esteemed event of high school, other than graduation, of course, and if people choose to go a little outside of the box when it comes to how they ask their dates to it, I think that should be celebrated, not ridiculed. That’s not to say everyone has to go all out, but if people choose to do so.... who cares. I’m definitely #TeamPromposal. Let the people have their fun.
Q: Is prom being cancelled??
A: Nope, prom is on! Enough people bought tickets by the deadline to secure the venue.
Q: How to deal with failed promposals? I mean overcoming the mentality of have to show up to prom with a partner…
A: There’s honestly no shame in the flying-solo prom game. You should by no means feel pressured to find someone to go with because as much fun as it sounds to share the night with a special someone, you can have just as much fun, if not even more, with yourself and your friends. It might seem like a big deal now but I guarantee you’re not going to look back on your prom night in however many years and think “wow, what a loser, I can’t believe I didn’t have a date”. Instead, you’ll remember all of the memories you made and will probably even laugh at how much you worried about something so small. So love yourself, own the night and have fun. Life’s a lot more fun when you stop sweating about the small stuff.
