HT Celebrates Graduation with Final Mass

This past Wednesday, the HT school community gathered in the gym to celebrate the year coming to an end. It also marks the special occasion of some graduating from their high school career. The gym was transformed into a sacred space, where all participants of the mass presented themselves as quiet and respectful individuals.

During the homily, Father John Van Hees shared with us a special message and reflection on life. He stated that we often focus too much on what we are getting out of a relationship and that we neglect what we are giving back to it. He distinguished the difference between a happy couple and a miserable one. The happy ones are where both individuals in the relationship are willing to devote their life to each other. They gain their happiness from giving. There will be one day when we go to Heaven and become saints and remain single forever, so we should cherish the time we have being in a relationship. Acknowledging the fact we need to give will lead us to greater happiness.

Father John also gave regards to the graduates. He first congratulated them and wishing that, no matter where they are headed, that they remember that the school community will always be here for them. He ended off by giving the best wishes to all of the graduating students.

A special thanks to everyone who made this a true celebration- Father John, Mrs. Montanari, Mrs. Borsellino, Mrs, Weryho, the choir/musicians, Mr. Joseph’s tech crews, readers, altar servers, gift bearers, Phy. Ed, classes, and finally to Miss Gloria Hahn who is an alumnus of Holy Trinity and continue to accompany the school choir on piano for the whole year prior to her returning to Queen’s to finish her degree. She demonstrated that the graduating does not cease to be a part of the HT family when they graduate. GO TITANS!!!!!
